Regional Distribution Manager- Accident & Health Sales


Zurich North America, a leader in the global Accident & Health industry, is currently hiring for a Regional Distribution Manager (RDM) for our U.S. Accident & Health division. The position, accountable for developing relationships that generate sales and premium growth in Zurich’s East Region, is based in New York with the ability to locate in other East coast offices.

The RDM will distribute a portfolio of travel, accident and voluntary employee benefits including:

  1. Travel Assistance services.

  2. Business Travel Accident including international programs.

  3. Corporate and specialty AD&D plans.

  4. Leisure Travel Insurance.

  5. Voluntary Benefits including Accident Medical and Critical Illness.

  6. Special Risk – student and participant accident.

As a Zurich Group Accident RDM you will:

  • Be responsible for achieving new sales and growth targets for our portfolio in the East Region.

  • Align with distribution partners to achieve specific sales and retention targets and serve as a leader for professional development and product knowledge.

  • Be responsible for working with regional underwriting managers to achieve new business and retention targets.

  • Provide sales leadership by coaching and mentoring other market facing staff.

  • Collaborate with other Zurich business units for cross-sell opportunities.

This position requires proven sales experience in the insurance industry. The RDM will effectively profile their distributors, build business plans and introduce propositions that help distributors exceed their goals.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 6 or more years of Insurance Sales or Market Facing Underwriting experienceOR

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 8 or more years of Insurance Sales or Market Facing Underwriting experienceAND

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree Preferred

  • Experience in A&H, Employee Benefits or Travel Assistance

  • Demonstrated ability to execute effective sales strategies

  • Possess outstanding communication skills

  • Leadership experience of multidisciplinary teams, internally and externally

  • Strong understanding of the insurance industry from a market and underwriting perspective

  • Able to build relationships externally and internally that can deliver on sales and retention goals

  • Strong knowledge of Underwriting parameters, concepts, risks, and hazards

  • Ability to analyze and understand financial and performance metrics

  • Ability to identify business trends, changes in market conditions, and competitor activity
