Sourcing Contract Specialist

Location: UK flexible hybrid office working (Fareham or Swindon preferred) or homeworking (with some travel required)

The opportunity:

Procurement and Vendor Management (PVM) are looking for a Sourcing Contract Specialist for it’s Business Process Sourcing Team. This team delivers sourcing advice and contract management services for Group Co-ordinated Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) arrangements – arrangements that span across Zurich’s Functions and/or multiple Business Units (BUs).

The role involves oversight of high-value, highly complex outsourcing contracts, providing contract administration services and detailed contract analysis for multi-jurisdictional contractual relationships with our global strategic service providers.

You will act as a point of contact for contractual matters to the BUs and Functions receiving services under these arrangements and ensure the contracts are managed effectively including management of contractual obligations and deliverables, tracking of assurance requirements and remediation plans where necessary and also administering contract changes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that contracts with service providers are properly maintained and managed, including obligation and contract change management, escalating concerns where necessary

  • Develop changes to contracts, where appropriate, to meet business needs, assisting in the negotiation of changes with both service providers and the BUs and Functions who are receiving services

  • Ensure changes to the contracts are contractually and commercially appropriate

  • Ensure the contract and associated records are formally evidenced in writing and appropriately stored

  • Ensure an effective control environment is in place and maintained

  • Provide reporting and management information

  • Participate in governance forums and other meetings with service providers and stakeholders

  • Provide ad hoc advice on contract-related queries to BUs and Functions, including contract interpretation

  • Prepare and maintain comparison papers, presentation material and other forms of guidance to assist stakeholders in understanding their rights under a contract

  • Contribute to improvement initiatives to identify and capture value, avoid costs, or eliminate waste in relation to any designated contract(s), including improving and documenting existing processes

  • Provide support on market intel reporting, commercial analysis and vendor due diligence

Your skills and experience:

  • Experience of working in contract management, sourcing, or procurement roles

  • Preferred experience of playing a role in project, program and change initiatives and project teams

  • Preferred experience of interfacing with and advising Senior Managers and business stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions as well as leading relationships with service providers

  • Ece of working in sourcing or procurement roles or experience in a heavily process driven environment, such as operational claims or business compliance and assurance roles

  • Encouraging teamwork, networking, and responsiveness

  • Personal drive, decisiveness, resilience, integrity, challenges, and results focused

  • Effective problem solver, articulate and can communicate across multiple levels and technologies

  • Strong written English and numerical skills
