Senior Engineer (Consultancy Services) – Part-Time, Job-share and Full-Time

Location: UK Home-Based

The opportunity:

Zurich Engineering have new vacancy for a Senior Engineer, specialising in engineer consultancy and independent verification of design.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work to technical quality and professional standards.

  • Carry out work as part of technical engineering investigations and research to optimise performance.

  • Continuously develop business relationships to support the Engineering Inspection business.

  • Promote positive customer perception of engineering services in the UK.

  • Support the Principle Engineer – Pressure Systems in carrying out audits of Engineer Surveyor workforce within discipline.

  • Support the technical training of staff.

  • Develop technical materials / documents for technical staff and customers.

  • Compliance with technical standards and quality systems within technical discipline.

  • Ensures risk assessment and safe systems of work are adhered to.

  • Produce accurate estimates of resources required for projects and manage projects to ensure profitability.

Your skills and experience:

  • Incorporated Engineer with appropriate relevant experience.

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) and intermediate experience.

  • Knowledge of British Standards and legislation applicable to relevant design and manufacturing of pressure equipment.

  • Required Experience of working in a team and coordinating relatively technical activities.

  • Thorough knowledge of relevant manufacturing legislations, e.g. PED, PSSE, SPVD.

  • Excellent knowledge and experience of application standards.

  • Understanding of welding qualification standards, including EN/ISO, ASME & AWS.

  • A good understanding of material applications.

  • Understanding of quality management and accreditation requirements.

  • Thorough knowledge of new construction and in service Pressure Equipment products.


  • Demonstrates impartiality and integrity.

  • Manages and ensures projects managed in a timely and profitable manner.

  • Ensures projects are delivered to Zurich Engineering standard service

  • Supports business development and identifies opportunities.

  • Understand technical requirements and market them accordingly.

  • Embraces a continuous improvement culture.

The Reward:

The salary for this role is up to £60,000, depending on experience. Additionally, we offer an extensive benefits package including:
