Job Summary

Zurich North Americais currently looking for an experienced candidate with a legal and ManagementLiability Background to join the Technical Underwriting - Management Liabilityteam as a Product Specialist. The Product Specialist will work closely withmembers of the Technical Underwriting team and will collaborate with thebusiness units to evaluate and draft policy wording and endorsements for abroad range of Management Liability lines of business including D&O, EPL,Fiduciary and Crime.The ProductSpecialist also will get involved in various product and underwriting relatedprojects, as assigned.

We are looking forsomeone to provide guidance and advice to Technical Underwriters actingindependently and with minimal direction. This person will have experience reviewing and drafting policy andendorsement language and will be drive and be responsible for various projectsrelated to product development and implementation so as to enable achievementof business plan and the delivery of excellent customer service.

The job’s core deliverables rely on influencing ornegotiating with a broad range of internal clients, including executives and seniormanagement. There is an expectation of the need to employ specializedtechniques and substantial experience. Relationships typically involvepersuading or countering opposition and helping find acceptable compromise.

Job Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • JD and 7 or more years of experience of law practice specializing in the insurance area

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of andexperience with management liability insurance (D&O, EPL and Fiduciary) policiesand the related legal and regulatory environment

  • Public D&O defenseor claims management background

  • Strong analytical andwritten communication skills

  • Creativity in findingsolutions to complex business issues

  • Knowledge andunderstanding of underwriting philosophy and of admitted vs. non-admitted rulesand regulations.
