Job Summary

In this exciting opportunity reporting to the Head of Human Resources for Canada, the Total Rewards Consultant will support both Compensation and Benefits in a variety of projects and responsibilities. Located in Toronto, this position will be part of the Canadian HR Team supporting 500+ employees for Zurich Canada and World Travel Protection.

Job Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelors Degree and 8 or more years of experience in the HRIS and Compensation Administration area

OR

• Associate Degree and 8 or more years of experience in the HRIS and Compensation Administration area

OR

• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 10 or more years of experience in the HRIS and Compensation Administration area

AND

• Experience with SAP, Excel spreadsheets, graphing and PowerPoint

Preferred:

  • CHRL

  • Courses towards World @ Work Certification, including Quantitative Methods

  • Knowledge of employment standards centered around pay practices or related HR experience

  • Experience using Access

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Ability to shift priorities in a fast-paced globally complex, customer focused environment

  • Consultative skills and the ability to build strong working relationships

  • Bilingual (French) would be considered an asset

Job Accountabilities

  • Leads the plan and program management for compensation and benefits for Canada conducting market research, plan analysis and monitoring compensation and benefit trends.

  • Analyzes, discusses and presentsfindings and trends concisely and effectively.

  • Responsible for various compensation and benefits reporting/audit needs (i.e. regulatory or plan/program management).

  • Provides project management and problem analysis for implementation of new or revised compensation and benefit programs.

  • Manages vendor relationships including contracts and service level agreements.

  • Evaluates and analyzes market data and maintains appropriate documentation.

  • Responsible for invoice management

  • Participates in compensation surveys including the evaluation and determination of appropriate benchmark matches, analyzes and reports results and maintains data in compensation management systems.

  • Conducts adhoc market pricing/pay range development and salary analysis as requested.

  • Development and maintenance of benefits policies including preparation of the appropriate documentation, timely submission/distribution of all legal filings and required communications.

  • Reviews and maintains communications for accuracy, compliance with plan rules and updated legislative requirements.
