World Travel Protection provides global travellers with specialist emergency assistance services when something goes wrong in their travels. We operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week from our operation centres in Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Malaysia, responding to the cries for help we receive from travellers across the globe.

The World Travel Protection Scrum Master plays a vital role in ensuring an Agile project team delivers the objectives of our many projects.

A bit about the job:

The Scrum Master will ensure that the organization continuously improves its agile ways of working, seeking to achieve enduring marginal gains through removing organizational barriers to agility.

The person will be recognized as the agile advocate across the organization and use their personal mastery of the subject matter to influence a broad range of people to be willing to explore, understand and adopt agile approaches.

The Scrum Master will be accountable for;

  • recruiting, retaining, motivating, training, mentoring, coaching their team.

  • ensuring teams are tracking and reporting progress in a consistent and timely manner, including tracking of external (outsourced) parties.

  • bringing consistency and discipline across the Agile Teams. This includes the ability to help estimate large initiatives based on the performance of the associated Team.

A bit about you:

8+ years of Scrum Master experience in recent projects/initiatives, global projects preferred.

Agile certified practitioner Certified Scrum Professional (CSP) or Certified Scrum Coach (CSC) certification or equivalent experience.

Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and leaders to adopt and support Agile ways of working, at the organizational level.

Possess a strong understanding of Agile approaches including Scrum and Kanban coupled with an appreciation of how to operate at across multiple organizations with different ways of working.

Understand how to work effectively with governance and portfolio management teams to prioritize, govern, track, report and drive progress.

Able to help others understand how and when to use techniques such as Design Thinking, User-Story Mapping as well as Minimum Viable Products and Experiments.

Able to help others understand how and when to use DevOps techniques, such as continuous integration and continuous deployment, in both technical and business domains.

Lead by example as a Scrum Master / Scrum-of-Scrums Coach (if needed).
