Business Systems Analyst - Guidewire

Description

Job Summary

Serves as a liaison between the Business and IT to provide solutions to their business systems needs; Understands customers objectives, processes, and products as well as the business systems capabilities to formulate , define, document and implement systems scope and objectives to develop and provides solutions.

Job Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or Computer Science or Engineering and 8 or more years of experience in the Information Technology area

AND

  • Process reengineering; LEAN/Six Sigma experience

  • Experience with process modeling tools

  • Insurance application system design/analysis experience

  • Experience with use case development

  • Experience with Agile and Scrum including experience with Jira/Confluence

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Business Analyst Professional (CBAP)

  • Advanced Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) skills

  • Consulting experience

  • Experience in a analytical role on complex enterprise projects

  • Knowledge of insurance industry

  • In-depth knowledge of insurance business processes and processing

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Canadian Guidewire Experience

Job Accountabilities

Key Accountabilities:

  • Looking for knowledge in the Insurance industry that has delivery and transformation experience in Guidewire PolicyCentre

  • Translates stakeholder inputs into meaningful business requirements and rules, and then into stories that the scrum teams can deliver against

  • Create and maintain detailed documentation on products and processes using a wide variety of technical tools that are constantly evolving.

  • Understand business priorities to effectively coordinate multiple streams of work at one time

  • Analyze, design and implement solutions for the P&C line of business for Insurance industry.

  • Been part of at least 3 implementations of Guidewire product suite (ClaimCentre, PolicyCentre)

  • Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills

  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment

  • Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration in a professional setting

  • Must have led BA teams in prior engagements

  • Trained in Guidewire / Certified in Guidewire (nice to have)

  • Certified in agile methodology (Scrum / SAFe)

  • Experience in implementing solution on the Cloud platform

  • InsureTech enthusiast

  • Hands-on experience with Thunderhead/SmartCOMM (nice to have)

  • Data mapping or data binding skills

  • XML schema understanding

  • Experience integrating Guidewire with multiple upstream systems (e.g. CRM, DnB, SmartComms, etc)
