Zurich is currently looking fora Workers Compensation Claims Team Manager to work out of our Schaumburg, ILoffice.

With moderate oversight, leads and directs a team of technical ClaimsProfessionals in low to high exposure claims in workers compensation.Coordinates the work activities of the team, and has responsibility forperformance, development, and coaching of staff to maximize contributions anddrive employee development and operational improvements.

Client Internally Focused - The job’s core deliverables rely on deliveringservice to internal clients, usually at the line manager or employee level. Mayinvolve sharing subject matter expertise to others in the organization orsupporting others in their efforts to deliver on our promise.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor and 5 or more years of experience in Workers Compensation ClaimsOR

  • Bachelors Degree and 6 or more years of experience in Workers Compensation ClaimsOR

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 8 or more years of experience in Workers Compensation ClaimsAND

  • Customer service experience

  • Experience with Microsoft Office

  • Experience collaborating across work groups

  • Knowledge of insurance legal statutes and procedures

  • Knowledge of the insurance industry, claims and the insurance legal and regulatory environment

  • Travel 0-20%

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Illinois, Wisconsin and Kentucky Workers Compensation Claims experience

  • Knowledge and skill of claims handling

  • Negotiation experience

  • Experience in workers compensation claims

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Analytical skills

  • People management experience
