Vendor and Operations Performance Manager
Zurich North America is currently looking for a Vendor and Operations Performance Manager for the Underwriting Support and Service team. This position reports to the Senior Vice President & Head of Underwriting Support & Service and will be based in our North American Headquarters in Schaumburg, IL. This role will be responsible for managing the relationship between the Business Unit and vendors for multiple outsourced operations, directing activities to ensure compliance and to confirm that service levels and contractual obligations are in alignment with business needs and expectations. We are looking for a strategic leader that will take a holistic approach to identifying business improvement opportunities and identifying the resources and disciplines needed to execute change.
Negotiates service level agreements, contractual obligations, and changes in control with contracted vendors for outsourced operations.
Participates in and influences vendor selection process.
Leads management in the development of service level agreements.
Ensures vendors business continuity plans meet or exceed company standards and perform a periodic test of the plan.
Leads the resolution of contractual issues between vendors and Business Unit.
Monitors vendor performance results over all service orders.
Ensures vendors are in compliance with all contractual obligations.
Works across multiple functions to manage outsourced functions in alignment with process owner expectations.
Conducts regular status meetings with business partners and vendors, in part to foster discussion of future opportunities.
Builds relationships with global peers by serving alongside them on various projects and initiatives.
Designs and leads complex projects and special requests to successful completion.
Manages lean initiatives locally and in conjunction with global objectives
Bachelor’s Degree and 10 or more years of experience in the Operations, Underwriting, Procurement or Finance areaOR
High School Diploma or Equivalent and 12 or more years of experience in theOperations, Underwriting, Procurement or Finance area
Experience managing external business relationships
Knowledge of insurance industry operations
Project management experience
Ability to travel Internationally
Experience managing vendor relationships and performance
Process optimization experience
Supplier process experience
Excellent presentation skills

Strong verbal and written communication skills
