Sr. Financial Business Analyst
Zurich is currently looking for a Sr. Financial Business Analyst to work out of our North American head-quarters in Schaumburg, Illinois.
The Sr. Financial Business Analyst role sits within the Finance Organization’s Business Performance and Insights Reporting/SSU Business Partnering team. This role supports the development of corporate vision and strategies for designated business unit(s). This individual should possess technical skills in SAS, SQL, robotics and automation . The Sr. Financial Business Analyst executes multiple assigned projects to support strategic initiatives and operational planning, including: frame strategic approach for business unit(s), independently conducts support by collecting data and input from other parts of the organization. The role also supports data to feed reporting and PowerBI, as well as supporting ad hoc data requests. In addition, this role looks to find ways to automate processes across Business Performance Insights.
Additional responsibilities will include:
Globally Accepted Accounting Principles/statutory and quarterly International Finance Reporting Standards financial statements
Ensuring the quality assurance of the quarterly variance analysis supporting the Group & International Finance Reporting Standards & reporting
Resolving operational day-to-day finance related issues and support other functions within the business unit
Monitoring, assessing and evaluating finance business processes in order to identify opportunities for improvement
Identifying gaps in analysis and additional analysis that should be conducted
Identifying possible issues/opportunities of strategy and recommend solutions
Applying industry knowledge to own work and bringing knowledge to bear with other analysts
Defining data requirements and identifying appropriate sources
Proposing potential new initiatives or areas for improvement
Support of other associates on day to day activities
Participating in training and development of new hires.
- Bachelor’s Degree and 4 or more years of experience in the Accounting or Finance area
High School Diploma or Equivalent and 7 or more years of experience in the Accounting or Finance areaAND
Knowledge and experience using accounting principles
Insurance industry experience
General ledger transactional experience
Technical skills in SAS, SQL, robotics and automation
Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills
