  • Senior Analyst - Corporate Strategy**


Zurich (Schaumburg, IL) seeks a Senior Analyst – Corporate Strategy to support the development of corporate vision and strategies for designated business unit(s), provide analytical support to the developing/reviewing/documenting and challenging of business and corporate strategies, and execute multiple assigned projects to support strategic initiatives and operational planning, including: frame strategic approach for business unit(s) and independently conduct analysis by collecting data and input from other parts of the organization. Specific duties include: translate business objectives into clearly defined business cases, costs or schedules in order to support achievement of business objectives; monitor and control allocated human and material resources assigned to project work, maintaining financial and progress forecasting, in order to ensure projects are delivered according to schedule and within budget; supervise and quality-assure the drafting of key policy documents to ensure full compliance to the organization’s rules and regulations governing transactions; analyze key themes from a wide range of data sources in order to identify how different scenarios may impact upon the business; contribute to the development of processes in area of expertise and ensure they are in line with strategic objectives; advise business division/ business/center of expertise in the development and execution of their area of expertise to enable the implementation of strategy, policy, projects and change initiatives; support key internal stakeholders in order to identify opportunities for service improvement in their area of expertise to ensure commercial viability and customer satisfaction; support the development of recommendations for new initiatives and areas of improvement within area of expertise to ensure the organization is cutting edge in this area; develop budgetary plans and monitor and control expenditure for assigned projects to optimize business performance; manage projects with medium complexity, including various change and communications elements, and facilitate the delivery of the project solution to support the benefits realization phase; identify and assess risks associated with project management and delivery and establish effective controls to ensure that the business is not exposed to any undue risk; track key project metrics, issues and risks and produce monthly statement reports including analyses and recommendations based upon these to improve business performance; contribute to the development of processes and lead the implementation of systems and process improvements in own area to improve overall performance; liaise with key internal stakeholders in order to identify opportunities for service improvement to ensure commercial viability and customer satisfaction; provide updates in meetings to provide specialist guidance and enable the implementation of project initiatives to improve business performance; and coordinate the operational delivery of cross border/cross segment or function projects and ensure that overall project objectives are clearly defined and met so that business benefits are delivered. Position requires occasional travel within the U.S. and internationally.

Position requires a Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Business Administration, Management, Economics, or a closely related field of study, plus 4 years of experience in the job offered, or as an Associate Consultant, Consultant, Assistant Manager, or similar experience in the Strategic and Operational Consulting area. Must have 4 years of experience with advanced Financial modeling, including cost-benefit models and business case models. Specific experience must also include 3 years with each of the following: Excel analytical tools, including pivot tables, charts, data validation, and what-if / scenario analyses; Excel data management tools, including data tables, linking across files, nested formulas, array formulas and data cleaning; advanced PowerPoint tools, including ThinkCell, combination charts, and templates / masters; preparing presentations for executives, including storytelling, storyboarding, and planning horizontal and vertical logic; presenting to executives; business analysis, including competitor analysis, market assessment, and secondary research and analysis; evaluating business problems and interviewing senior business stakeholders; planning and project management; and building issue/ hypotheses trees and hypotheses testing. Must also have 2 years of experience with database handling. Must be willing to occasionally travel within the U.S. and internationally.
