Reinsurance Project Lead
Zurich North America is currently hiring a Reinsurance Project Lead and this person will work out of our Schaumburg North America HQ in Schaumburg, IL. This person will report to the Sr. Reinsurance Financial Manager and will be a part of our North American Group Reinsurance function.
The North American Group Reinsurance Finance function manages reinsurance recoverables in excess of $18 billion, is responsible for the proper annual accounting and settlement of approximately $9 billion of assumed and ceded premiums and has the fiduciary responsibility for reinsurance collateral of approximately $15 billion.
The Reinsurance Project Lead will support and manage multiple projects ranging in scope from small to large in size and complexity. In addition, this person takes a proactive and holistic approach to business practices and processes, including identifying opportunities for improvement, developing solutions, managing initiatives, and aligning appropriate Subject Matter Experts (SME) and resources needed from across the business to execute change. A key focus of the projects will involve executing on technological solutions to support the department’s automation efforts. The Reinsurance Project Lead will work closely with our end user technology support team to successfully roll out developed solutions.
The Reinsurance Project Lead is responsible for planning, managing, tracking, and executing projects that deliver high quality and timely results to the business. He/she will partner across the business to identify, develop, and implement change management strategies; acts as a change agent in the implementation of initiatives that support strategic and operational priorities. He/she will also assist with translating business requirements into technical solutions.
Bachelor’s Degree and 6 or more years of experience in the Project Management areaOR
High School Diploma or Equivalent and 8 or more years of experience in the Project Management areaAND
Knowledge in organizational design and development
Experience leading organizational change
Broad-based knowledge of insurance industry including knowledge of insurance business processes and processing
Knowledge of existing and emerging technologies and how those technologies can be used to improve insurance business processes and transaction processing
Project Management Professional Certification from the Project Management Institute
In-depth knowledge of the tools, concepts, methodologies and techniques of business process re-engineering, change management, performance metrics and measures, customer assessment, cost/benefit analysis, bench-marking, process mapping/simulation, data collection, problem identification and interpretation
Relevant insurance industry designations and certifications
Advance Microsoft Office skills
Ability to develop collaborative relationships
Strong Analysis and problem solving skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to identify process improvements and best practices (Six Sigma or other relevant designations or training)
