Zurich North America is hiring a Reinsurance Data Analyst role and this person will report to a Reinsurance Financial Manager.This is an entry level role and this person will sit in our Schaumburg North America Headquarters.

Accountabilities –

  • Assistance with collateral management including: coordination with banks and colleagues to execute collateral transactions; verification that collateral is executed in accordance with regulatory requirements and company standards; and maintenance of collateral logs

  • Ensures timely and accurate data entry

  • Monitors and maintains shared mailbox

  • Participates in inter-department group teams on basic projects

  • Creates/updates procedure manuals

  • Ensures timely, accurate, and complete calculations, recording, reporting, billing and collections in accordance with contract terms and department standards, as required

  • Provides support and assistance in updating reinsurance systems and information regarding reinsurance placements

  • May ensure accurate entries on the monthly Activity reports and as well as identifies and codes reinsurance

  • May prepare basic accounting entries and billings

  • May prepare basic reconciliations and assists in reconciling the premium or loss sub-ledger

  • May handle/calculate reinsurance claims for a variety of reinsurance contracts and provisions (i.e., XOL, Q/S, expenses, etc.) of low complexity

  • Completes filing and electronic filing

Basic Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree and No prior experience required in Data Entry OR

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 2 or more years of experience in Data Entry OR

  • Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and No prior experience required in Data Entry

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Insurance industry experience

  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills; mainly Excel

  • Accurate and timely data entry skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills

  • Accounting function or clerk experience
