Project Leader – Release & Base Management
Zurich is currently looking for a Senior Project Leader to work in our Release & Base Management unit within our Application Development and Maintenance group out of our North American head-quarters in Schaumburg, Illinois and will beresponsible
for the coordination of all Release/Base activities across all the ADM groups.
This Project Leader position focuses on highly complex projects and will define business problems and formulates the project/systems scope and objectivesacross the entire ADM enterprise. The ideal candidate should have an understanding of insurance, processes, and business systems to drive the research and analysis of the defined problem, design the recommended solution, and implement the solution, while addressing associated change management.
Specific consulting responsibilities include driving operational transformation via strategic/industry perspectives, acting as a thought partner with key business leaders, defining and structuring opportunities/projects to deliver the transformation strategy, leading process re-engineering and continuous improvement projects, e.g. LEAN/Six Sigma.
Key focus areas will include:
Release, compliance and base financial management
Demand management processes and tools
Portfolio reporting for release, compliance and base
Developing common release, compliance and base processes across ADM
Coordinating software upgrade efforts managed under release budgets
Liaison to architecture and PMO team
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or Engineering and 8 or more years of experience in the Communications or Project Management area
- High School Diploma or Equivalent and 10 or more years of experience in the Communications or Project Management area
Experience in strategic and operational consulting or business systems
Integration Insurance application system design/analysis experience
Experience in leading teams using/creating use cases, Rapid Application Development (RAD) tools/techniques, requirements modeling and associated tools, Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), functional and systems requirements, requirements traceability documents, and testing scenarios and execution
Insurance industry experience highly preferred with detailed knowledge of insurance business processes and processing
Ability to identify and consider business implications of the application of technology to the current business environment
Strong problem solving skills

Strong verbal and written communication skills
'Hands-On' management experience at multiple levels within an financial services/insurance organization
Advance Microsoft Office skills
Experience in organizational design
Project Management Institute Project Management Professional Certification
Certified Business Analyst Professional (CBAP)
