Medical Only Workers Compensation Team Supervisor

Description

We are currently seeking a highly motivated individual to lead a team of Medical Only Claims Associates.These are entry level adjusters that handle low to high complexity Workers’ Compensation claims.

As a technical resource and subject matter expert, you will provide leadership, performance management, coaching and professional development, as well as the coordination of work and technical direction to the team. You will provide daily operational guidance, approve claims authority requests, conduct quality file reviews and ensure compliance and best practices. In addition, you will be expected to foster strong partnerships with key internal and external contacts as well as customers and brokers.

Additionally, you may work on projects and initiatives in support of the line of business strategy. As a member of the Workers’ Compensation leadership team, this is an opportunity to grow into a management career.

This position will be located in Schaumburg.

Occasional business travel may be needed in this position.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 4 or more years of experience in the Claims areaOR

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 6 or more years of experience in the Claims areaOR

  • Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 4 or more years of experience in the Claims areaAND

  • 3 or more years of claims handling experience

  • Knowledge of the insurance industry, claims and the insurance legal and regulatory environment

  • Willing and able to obtain any required licenses

  • Customer service experience

  • Experience with Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Workers Compensation technical claims handling experience

  • Negotiation experience

  • Experience collaborating across work groups

  • Leadership, coaching or mentoring experience

  • People management experience

  • Ability to collaborate across work groups

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Analytical skills
