Group Reinsurance Internship Summer 2020 (Schaumburg, IL)
Zurich is currently looking for a Group Reinsurance Intern for Summer 2020 to work out of our North America Headquarters located in Schaumburg, IL. This is an exciting opportunity to gain experience in Commercial Insurance!
Our Intern will work under immediate supervision and will perform requested tasks alongside professionals who perform these roles. Generally, this position is part of a program with an assigned mentor. As a Zurich Intern, you will have the opportunity to gain career-building experience with an industry-leading global insurance company.
The Group Reinsurance Intern will support the Finance Business area by performing routine processing of reinsurance activities and will work collaboratively with local reinsurance, finance, and business unit colleagues.
Additional responsibilities will include:
Collateral (Trust Review, Vault Test, Beneficiary Review)
Processing of Reinsurance activity
Other development opportunities include:
Potential for basic accounting activity (clearance of subledgers, processing payments, etc.)
Use of Microsoft tools to manage activity (i.e. Excel)
Time management and communication as they work on tasks across various Group Re teams
Currently enrolled in a college or university program and will be enrolled in the upcoming Fall Semester
Two or more years of college coursework (should be a rising Junior or Senior) OR
Zurich approved Apprenticeship program including an Associate Degree and no prior experience required in the administrative area
Minimum cumulative GPA average of 3.0 (current GPA reported by your school)
Be legally eligible to work in the U.S. indefinitely
Microsoft Office experience
Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Finance, Accounting or related major
Intermediate Excel Skills (Vlookup/pivot tables etc.)
Demonstrates problem solving skills in a customer focused environment
Possesses strong written and verbal communication skills
Self-motivated and able to work independently
