Zurich is currently looking for an Enterprise Architect as part of the Enterprise Transformation team based out of our North American headquarters in Schaumburg, IL.

This individual will be responsible for documenting current state IT landscapes/architectures and helping define strategies to create future-state architectures that support stated business strategies.

The Enterprise Architect will also provide advice to own and other teams; act as the point of contact between enterprise architecture, IT development teams, key stakeholders, and the global EA team.

She/he will also have the ability to work effectively with business and technical resources to bridge the typical gap in understanding between business and IT.

As an influencer, the Enterprise Architect will set the strategy and direction for the organization and will have exposure to senior leadership and key stakeholders.

Influencer Internally Focused - The job’s core deliverables rely on influencing or negotiating with a range of internal clients, usually at the line manager or employee level. Relationships typically involve promoting cooperation, collaboration or acceptance.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Information Technology and 6 or more years of experience in the Information Technology areaOR

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent in Information Technology and 8 or more years of experience in the Information Technology areaOR

  • Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree in Information Technology and 6 or more years of experience in the Information Technology area

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3 years or more in an enterprise architect role

  • Technical platform and solution architecture knowledge

  • Ability to design, manage and deliver as part of internal IT consultant practice

  • Ability to research, evaluate and propose new technologies tools strategies

  • Political acumen, ability to understand and navigate complex organizational dynamics

  • Strong communications and presentation skills

  • Strong business acumen in the Commercial Insurance space

  • Analytical thinking, strong problem solving skills

  • Strong influencing and conflict resolution skills
