Director of Life Accounting and Reporting Analysis
Zurich is currently lookingfor a Director of Life Accounting and Reporting Analysis to work out of our NorthAmerican head-quarters in Schaumburg, Illinois.
TheDirector of Life Accounting and Reporting Analysis develops monthly andquarterly financial closes as per the defined quality, time and budgetrequirements, through physical or virtual teams. Undertake career developmentand management responsibilities as appropriate.
Additional responsibilities will include:
Delivering financial close for Life legalentities and reporting units under the management of ZNA
Execute appropriate controls and analyticalreview over results
Liason with audit as appropriate, supportexecution and review of assigned SOX and Operational Key Controls over Lifeentities
Working with the Corporate Controller to ensureappropriate resourcing, scheduling and technical expertise for delivery ofassigned responsibilities
Leading continuous improvement over Lifefinancial close processes and analytics, bringing relevant efficiencies andimproved control
Contributing to the development and presentation ofthe quarterly variance analysis, SOE and relevant results for each close acrossall applicable accounting basis
Finalize monthly financials with alignment tomanagement stakeholders and manage corrective actions with stakeholders and drive execution, tracking andclosure of agreed actions
Performs periodic review of financial processesand controls to ensure teams are executing effectively and aspects of related controls,risks and governance are well defined and operating effectively across the Lifelegal entities and processes
Overseeing and managing Life Accounting andReporting for assigned legal entities and reporting units including maintenanceof relationships with key stakeholder and acting as the Life Accounting andReporting point of contact for localmanagement
Overseeing the performance of assigned teammembers and take necessary actions to support their development
Building technical/ commercial knowledge andbusiness awareness across multiple areas by accessing diverse resources andinteracting with a broad range of stakeholders
Supporting the development of Life Accounting andReporting through own professional skills and technical knowledge
Bachelor’sDegree and 10 or more years of experience in the Insurance Accounting, Audit orFinance areaOR
HighSchool Diploma or Equivalent and 12 or more years of experience in the InsuranceAccounting, Audit or Finance areaOR
ZurichCertified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 10 or moreyears of experience in the Insurance Accounting, Audit or Finance area
CPA / CPCU
Strongwritten and oral communication skills
Strongproject management skills
Strongbusiness focus, and demonstrates a clear understanding of the insurancebusiness
Experiencewith Microsoft Office and data analysis software
Experiencewith ERP systems and financial reporting
