Job Summary

This is an exciting new opportunity to join Technical Underwriting and put your analytical skills to use!

This Data Management Specialist will support and design the integrated data architecture for UW Governance data and reporting.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for building and supporting the tools necessary for the collection and management of that data. Sources will include Excel workbooks, SharePoint lists, Access databases, SQL tables, e.g..

This valuable team member should be able to manage, link and enrich data across the UW Governance ecosystem in preparation for reporting, analysis and visualization. Partnering with and assisting others to build reports and visualization. Additional duties include performing recurring or ad hoc analysis.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to:

  • Work with leaders across Technical Underwriting and Zurich as a whole

  • Design, facilitate and/or support data analysis projects that promote organizational effectiveness, efficiency, and profitability.

  • Take a holistic approach to identifying business improvement opportunities through data analytics

Additional Key Responsibilities

  • Research, identify and ingest appropriate external/internal data sources to meet the business needs

  • Analyze and document findings of the data

  • Source, negotiate, purchase and secure data agreements with external suppliers

  • Identify and advocate appropriate use of the data

  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships throughout the organization

  • Support business data needs with an appropriate sense of urgency and within appropriate compliance and governance guidelines

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors’ Degree and 3 or more years in data analysis & interrogation, data profiling, and/or data modeling

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills

  • Demonstrated verbal and written abilities

  • Ability to work independently and interact effectively as part of a team

  • Good problem solving, decision making and analytical skills

  • Effective communication, organizational and documentation skills

  • Ability to balance competing priorities to deliver objectives

  • Knowledge of SQL, SAS, Erwin, Data Quality Tools, ETL skills

  • Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

  • Insurance industry experience
