Zurich is currently looking for a Corporate Tax Intern to work out of our Finance Business Unit in our North American Headquarters in Schaumburg, Illinois.

The Corporate Tax Intern will support the Corporate Tax department by performing routine U.S. tax compliance, audit and accounting functions, and will work collaboratively with local and global tax, finance, and business unit colleagues.

You will work on:

  • Prepare federal and state tax returns and supporting workpapers, estimated tax payments, and various other tax compliance filing requirements

  • Support the company’s tax audits, responses to tax notices, and timely resolution of other tax controversy matters

  • Assist in the preparation of the quarterly tax provision, including reports to management and the external auditor, account reconciliations, tax basis balance sheet support, and execution of internal controls

  • Perform basic technical research to address tax issues, including planning opportunities

  • Provide other tax support, which may include analyses of pending legislation, preparation of required transfer pricing documentation and reporting, and implementation of legislative changes

Basic Qualifications:

  • Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance,Insurance, Business Management, Accountingor related field

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelors program and will be enrolled in the fall of 2019

  • Two or more years of college coursework (should be a rising Junior or Senior) and no prior years of experience required in the Administrative area

  • Microsoft Office experience

  • Minimum cumulative current grade point average of 3.0 (current could mean last semester GPA)

  • Be legally eligible to work in the U.S indefinitely

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Problem solving skills in customer focused environment

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Experience in a leadership role

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
