Corporate Legal Assistant
Zurich is currently seeking a Corporate Legal Assistant for its Schaumburg, IL Headquarters location.
Under the supervision of an attorney, the Legal Assistant provides legal support such as drafting resolutions, Board and Board committee meeting minutes and agendas,
and performing legal and documentary research. The Legal Assistant will also have significant experience with legal entity management, including forming, dissolving and
administering subsidiary companies. Experience performing corporate book-keeping and records management for both a holding company and its subsidiaries is essential
to this role.
The Legal Assistant will also review and interpret bylaws, charters, policies, procedures and protocols. Other responsibilities of this position include strong legal research skills,entity licensing and registration. A proactive disposition and a high level of attention to detail are both essential for the successful candidate.

Associate Degree and 2 or more years of experience in the Legal or Legal Support areaOR
Zurich approved Apprenticeship program including an Associate Degree and 2 or more years of experience in the Legal or Legal Support areaAND
Experience conducting electronic database research
Experience drafting legal documents, correspondence, and/or pleadings
Insurance industry experience
One or more professional certifications:
CORE Registered Paralegal (CRP)
PACE Registered Paralegal (PRP)
Certified Paralegal (CP)
Certified Legal Assistant (CLA)
Professional Paralegal (PP)
Ability to effectively draft complex legal documents, correspondence, and/or pleadings
Ability to effectively conduct electronic database research, including WestLaw
Effective written and verbal communication; ability to summarize information clearly and concisely
Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Ability to effectively organize, prioritize, and meet deadlines for multiple, simultaneous projects
Previous experience in litigation legal support
Familiarity with litigation management software
Demonstrated ability to successfully work independently as well as within a team
High level of attention to detail
