Communications Internship (Summer 2021)
Zurich North America is looking for a Communications Intern to work out of our North American Headquarters in Schaumburg, IL for the summer of 2021 within our Marketing and Communication business unit.
The Marketing and Communications team develops and delivers focused messages that positively impact company objectives, and makes sure messages are consistent with all internal and external audiences. These messages define who we are and what we do, and support our company strategy, values, and culture.
The intern will serve as an advocate between the Internal and External Communications teams.
Internal Responsibilities will include:
Write stories on the internal platforms
Help with redesign efforts of intranet website
Serve as back-up Editor for intranet website
Gathering and analyzing metrics
Communications Audit / Channel Effectiveness Review
Assist with video scripting and production
Assist in developing leadership presentations
Marketing event support
Work on intern Project in developing communications for key messages
ExternalResponsibilities will include:
Write stories (News Hub articles, new hire releases, social media content, etc.)
Various research projects
Perform organizational tasks
Assist with content reviews
Develop and scheduling social media posts
Monitor social listening and triage complaints
Review and schedule Elevate posts
Assist with podcast production
Intern specific projects on social media
Scheduling organic posts
Gather metrics for monthly reports
The successful candidate will possess a strong ability to interact with the Marketing, Marketing Operations, and Creative teams as well as actively engage and motivate colleagues during Zurich North America’s journey to become customer-led.
Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communication or Journalism related field
Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s program and will be enrolled in the fall of 2021
Two or more years of college coursework (should be a rising Junior or Senior) and no prior years of experience required in the Administrative area
Microsoft Office experience
Minimum cumulative GPA average of 3.0 (current GPA reported by your school)
Be legally eligible to work in the U.S indefinitely
Excellent writing and editing skills
Planning and execution skills
Strong verbal and written communications skill
