Business Systems Analyst Manager


Zurich is currently looking for a Business Systems Analyst Manager to work out of our North American headquarters in Schaumburg, IL supporting a portfolio of commercial and underwriting insurance applications as part of the Core Platform Modernization Salesforce team within Information Technology Services.

This individual will manage and work with a team to translate business requirements into technical specifications for application updates related to projects, enhancements and compliance needs while working in an Agile environment supporting the design, construction and implementation of these updates to the applications. The ideal candidate will be an individual that is an energetic and a skilled professional who can lead others, and will serve as the liaison between the Business and IT.

The Business Systems Analyst Manager will provide resource planning, enhancements estimates, act as product owner for and for ensuring the requirements repository is kept up to date. The manager will also be tasked with setting up standards and best practices with an emphasis in working in a Salesforce out of the box environment. Additional responsibilities will include working in Cloud communities with a design team (UI/UX), providing customer experience fundamentals, applying the Agile methodology, in addition to ETL, data analysis, troubleshooting, negotiations, and assisting PM’s with scope and timelines, and working with other functional teams.

Other responsibilities may include:

  • Lead a team of other analysts in business requirements and translate them into user stories and acceptance criteria

  • Assist in coordinating and leading activities with product owners to gather requirements

  • Document detailed functional and non-functional requirements

  • Use requirements management tools and techniques such as Use Cases, Data Matrix, Process Flow Diagrams, JIRA, etc.

  • Support development, testing, implementation and training activities

  • Understand and apply delivery approaches (i.e. Agile methodology, Scrum) and perform, independently, business analysis processes in accordance with Zurich Project management framework and the Zurich risk policy

  • Provide subject matter expertise and leadership to others in the organization

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree and 8 or more years of experience in the Information Technology areaOR

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 10 or more years of experience in the Information Technology areaAND

  • Possesses full technical knowledge of most phases of systems analysis and considers the business implications of the application of technology to the current and future business environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Service Cloud and Sales Cloud Community experience

  • Salesforce out-of-the-box experience involving implementations and maintenance

  • ​Experience eliciting requirements from business and facilitating workshops

  • Experience with insurance application UI design, analysis and requirements

  • People management experience

  • Knowledge of insurance industry business processes

  • Experience with Agile methodology

  • Experience with ETL concepts and technology

  • Experience with data query tools to perform data analysis and validation

  • Advanced negotiation skills

  • Experience with collaborating across many teams and working independently

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skill
