AVP, Continuous Improvement Lead (Lean)
Zurich is currently looking for an AVP, Continuous Improvement Lead (Lean) Lead to work in our North American headquarters in Schaumburg, IL. As a leader within the Lean Management team, you will use your strategic leadership skills, along with your ability to lead and influence to manage a team that supports and executes Lean Management deployments.
As part of the leadership team, you will use your strong influencing, problem solving and analytical skills to help transform the organization by driving simplification and change through various Lean deployments. In this highly visible and autonomous role, you will be responsible for:
Leading a team of Lean Navigators who support Business/Service Units within Zurich North America to deploy the Lean Management system in support of our strategy
Managing key stakeholder relationships and influencing changes to continue to drive high impact work
Driving execution, Lean capabilities and building manager capabilities to drive continuous improvement

Understands Way of Working (Lean Management) Deployment methodology and how it will help achieve business goals. Help set and refine target metrics along with company leaders.
Translates strategic needs and priorities into a comprehensive project plan which ensures successful project completion.
Act as a project leader and coach for a group of Lean Navigators to identify and ensure the completion of work in a timely and effective manner.
Oversee specialized needs based training to assist employees with obstacles in the Lean transformation and participate in continuous improvement by conducting/leading analysis and recommending effective solutions.
Prepares periodic written communication for leaders regarding project status and keeps Architect and leaders informed of project direction, challenges and risks; renegotiates direction as necessary.
Makes presentations, provides training and coaching and prepares recommendations to senior managers.
- Bachelors Degree and 7 or more years of experience in the Project Management area
Master degree or Lean/Six Sigma preferred
Strong verbal and written communication skills along with the ability to influence senior leaders
Demonstrated experience in project planning, problem solving (to include simulation, modelling, cost benefit analysis and information systems development)
MS Office background - Excel to analyze metrics and to build charts and PowerPoint to build communication documents for senior leaders
