Job Summary

Zurich North America is looking for an Actuary to help drivePricing Modernization in our North American headquarters in Schaumburg,Illinois. This critical role requires someone with outstanding problemsolving skills, the ability to drive intellectual innovation, and the abilityto communicate across the enterprise.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Directsupport and involvement in building out the simplified pricing solution

  • Partnerwith IT, Business Analysts, and Pricing Actuaries

  • InstructBusiness Analysts in the translation of rating/pricing logic for IT programmers

  • Guideand support Pricing Actuaries through the steps required to prepare existingrating/pricing tools for Guidewire conversion

  • Gather Underwriter feedback to ensure the underwriting experience is incorporated into model functionality and outputs

  • Provide pre-inception analysis for each Guidewire release

  • Gatherrating and pricing artifacts (i.e., all product rating and pricing rules andalgorithms, countrywide and state exceptions)

  • Mapcurrent state rating and pricing algorithms and recommend modifications toalign with guiding principles of pricing simplification

  • Educate and support Actuarial SMEs throughout theirparticipation on each release.

Job Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree inMathematics/Statistics or Actuarial Sciences and 5 or more years of experiencein the Actuarial area

    AND

  • ACAS

PreferredQualifications:

  • FCAS

  • Technicalknowledge and skills reflective of a practitioner who has progressed withinactuarial positions of increasing responsibility

  • Experiencein multiple functional areas (pricing, reserving, capital management) and inmultiple business units

  • Experiencewith developing processes and best practices

  • Experiencewith Guidewire
