Zurich Investment Management is currently looking for a Senior Investments Management Intern to join the team in the summer of 2023. The internship will be fully remote working directly with the Regional Investment Manager.

The Zurich Investment Management, North America team is responsible for the management of general insurance assets of North America. Our mission is to generate superior risk-adjusted returns relative to our insurance commitments.

As an intern, you will contribute to building technical investment management capabilities while learning about the institutional investment management lifecycle and processes, and specifics of insurance investment management. During his / her time, the intern will:

  • Facilitate implementation of investment analytics and work-flow processes

  • Work on a CIO dashboard for improved investment decision making

  • Learn directly from highly experienced investment managers

  • Potentially earn course credit

Skills the intern will develop/learn over the summer include:

  • Portfolio analytics

  • Investment decisions

  • Cash management within the investment process

Basic Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in an advanced degrees program (e.g., MBA, MS, or Ph.D.) or will be enrolled by the Fall of 2023

  • Possess an undergraduate degree from an accredited educational institution

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing an advanced degree in any Corporate Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or other relevant STEM areas

  • Coursework in investments, finance, accounting, advanced mathematics

  • Coursework in statistics or econometrics

  • Coursework in programming (e.g., Python, R), data visualization (e.g., Tableau, Qlik, Power BI), and analytics tools

  • Familiarity with capital markets and asset classes

Preferred Skills:

  • Strong problem-solver

  • Quantitative/programming experience or project demonstrating capabilities

  • Attention to detail and high-quality work product

  • Openness to learning and professional engagement

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently to support the project and team goals

  • Familiarity with portfolio analytics and market data

The hourly rate for this role is $30.60. This is the range Zurich NA in good faith believes is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of the posting. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed remotely in any US state. Base pay offered may vary depending on, but not limited to education, experience, skills, geographic location, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business needs. This range may be modified in the future. No amount is considered to be wages or compensation until such amount is earned, vested, and determinable.
