Crop Insurance Internship Summer 2021 South Dakota
Zurich is currently looking for a CROP Intern to work out of ourRural Community Insurance Services (RCIS), Portfolio Optimization Group in our South Dakota office.
RCIS provides insurance and superior services through leading agents to protect America’s farmers and ranchers. It’s been an innovator in crop insurance since the crop insurance business was privatized by the federal government in 1980. Today it’s one of the nation’s largest crop insurance providers, offering risk management protection in all 50 states through a national network of about 4,000 professionally trained and licensed agents.
This intern will work under immediate supervision and perform requested tasks alongside professionals who perform these roles. Generally, this position is part of a summer program with an assigned mentor.

Respond to suggestions for resolution by asking appropriate questions to clarify understanding
Confirm deadline and expectations with others for work deliverables
Double-check work for missing or incomplete information

Write objectives you hope to gain from the internship
Actively pursuing a Bachelors degree in Agricultural or related field
Currently enrolled in a Bachelors program and will be enrolled in the fall of 2021
Two or more years of college coursework (should be a rising Junior or Senior)
Minimum cumulative current grade point average of 3.0 (current could mean last semester GPA)
Be legally eligible to work in the U.S indefinitely
Experince working in Agricultural field and Farming
Coding: SAS, Visual Basic, R Studio
Intermediate Microsoft Office
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Problem-solving skills in a customer-focused environment
Experience in a leadership role
Self-motivated and able to work independently
Strong interest in the insurance industry
