The Middle Markets Regional Operations Manager will facilitate the training and development efforts required for the Underwriting Assistants within the East region. Ideally, we would like the Regional Operations Manager to be located in New York, New Jersey or Philadelphia. The ROM will lead, motivate, and develop Underwriting Account Servicing team to develop and deliver customer-specific, value-added services for existing and new large accounts. The ROM manages all operational activities associated with mid-size to large accounts with Middle Markets.
The Regional Operations Manager (ROM) will provide support for talent development training to upskill/reskill our Underwriting Account Service Associates (UA) across Middle Markets:
Train UAs on technical know-how, processes, and procedures (i.e., UA responsibilities including U.S. MM Core Process).
Develop framework for measuring and capturing production metrics for UAs post GW implementation.
Provide business analysis assistance by participating in system enhancement, testing and deployment.
Develop consistent and sustainable best practices to be utilized across all regions.
Provide local managers with support in coaching and mentoring.
Other duties outlined in the translation guides.
Directly supervise and manage a team of UAs within the region.
Contributes to operational plan – assesses and monitors operational workflows across various underwriting and underwriting support functions.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and 6 or more years of experience in the Insurance, Underwriting or Market Facing area OR
High School Diploma or Equivalent and 8 or more years of experience in the Insurance, Underwriting or Market Facing area OR
Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice, including Associate Degree and 6 or more years of experience in the Insurance, Underwriting or Market Facing area AND
Knowledge of the insurance industry and the legal and regulatory environment
Experience with researching, compiling, analyzing and synthesizing data and metric.
Experience working in a production and metrics performance environment.
Experience preparing and managing operational budgets.
Microsoft Office experience
People management experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Insurance certifications
Middle Markets property and casualty knowledge
2 of more years of staff management experience
Compensation for roles at Zurich varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by local law, Zurich provides in good faith a reasonable range of compensation for roles. Candidates with salary expectations outside of the range are encouraged to apply, and will be considered based on experience, skill, and education. The salary provided is a nationwide market range and has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location where the position may be filled.The starting salary range for this position is$94,000.00 - $154,000.00.
