Zurich is looking for a Business Practices and Project Consultant III to work out of Any North American Zurich Claims office.
This is a senior-level consultant role that will lead workstreams of large projects/programs by working directly with business partners. This individual will drive and support the development of high-quality recommendations to support overall achievement of key strategic priorities; additionally, this consultant will take a proactive and holistic approach to business practices and processes, which may include identifying opportunities for improvement, developing solutions, managing initiatives, implementing change management strategies, and aligning appropriate Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and resources needed from across the business.
Key Accountabilities
Delivers solution for projects of varying size and complexity
Establishes project direction, defines key results, develops plans, establishes goals, and identifies critical success factors
Lead key portions of the engagement (module/work streams) independently in order to support overall successful project outcomes
Builds and owns relationships with management and business partners as appropriate throughout the project
Eliminate roadblocks, resolve issues, and aligns people and the organization in the overall effort; communicate to key stakeholders regarding project updates and issues and manages escalation appropriately
Develop pragmatic and actionable recommendations by leading/supporting issue identification, data gathering, analytics, problem structuring, and solving (quantitative and qualitative)
Leads and executes the solution design (including metrics and measures) and implementation, including associated change management activities
Reviews resulting analysis (financial, operational, process) and validates hypothesis
Finalizes and socializes recommendations for improvements with supporting detail based upon analysis
Additional Job Functions
Utilize detailed understanding of insurance, processes, and business systems to drive the research and analysis of the defined problem, design the recommended solution, and implement the solution, addressing change management.
Build relationships with line managers across a portfolio to deliver business change projects in assigned areas of the business
Advise line managers to support change through understanding and insight in order to have an impact on business unit performance
Ad hoc project support, as needed
Performance Management Accountabilities:

Coach and provide technical advice and counsel within and outside operating unit
Provide guidance and support for team members
Take action to manage own personal development and encourage other to do the same
Job Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor's Degree and 6 or more years of experience in the Project Management area
OR
• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 8 or more years of experience in the Project Management area
AND
• Knowledge in organizational design and development
• Experience leading organizational change
Preferred:
• Relevant insurance industry designations and certifications
• MBA
• Knowledge of existing and emerging technologies and how those technologies can be used to improve insurance business processes and transaction processing
• Project Management Professional Certification from the Project Management Institute
• In-depth knowledge of the tools, concepts, methodologies and techniques of business process reengineering, change management, performance metrics and measures, customer assessment, cost/benefit analysis, benchmarking, process mapping/simulation, data collection, problem identification and interpretation
• Broad-based knowledge of insurance industry including knowledge of insurance business processes and processing
• Advance Microsoft Office skills
• Ability to develop collaborative relationships
• Strong Analysis and problem solving skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
