Senior Financial Analyst


Zurich LegacySolutions (“ZLS”) is a specialist division focused on delivering run-off andexit solutions for Zurich Insurance Group’s (“ZIG”) legacy businesses andunder-performing non-core portfolios.

The role of Sr. Financial Analyst . will work out of our New York Cityoffice and will report to the North America Head of Finance for ZLS.

The chosencandidate will be responsible for focusing on financial controls (focusinginitially on SOX controls), financial transactions and projects, and presentationsfor strategic projects as and when they arise. The role spans across ZLSproviding financial support and expertise for cost benefit analysis, newbusiness tenders, valuations and acquisitions as required. Inaddition, this person will manage the relationship between Zurich and externalprofessional service providers. The job’s core deliverables rely oninfluencing or negotiating with a broad range of internal clients, specificallyexecutives, and/or senior management.

The successfulcandidate will have:

  • A background in finance and accounting, with specific insuranceaccounting knowledge being an advantage;

  • A curious mind who actively challenges the status quo and has adesire to make change happen;

  • A strong appetite to continually improve themselves and the teamaround them;

  • Strong communication skills, who can clearly articulate problemsand present solutions.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance and 8 or more years of experience in the Accounting or Finance area

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 10 or more years of experience in the Accounting or Finance area


  • CPA, CPCU, CFA, and/or CTP

  • Insurance industry experience

  • Strong knowledge of accounting or treasury principles

  • Experience in managing several simultaneous activities and projects General ledger or treasury transactional experience

  • Strong Microsoft Office experience

  • Technology experience related to one or more of the following areas: General ledger, financial reporting systems, treasury workstation, Business Objects or other query tools

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
