Business Development Leader - NY Metro
Zurich is currently looking for a Business Development Leader for our Marketing, Distribution & Regional Management Division team based in our New York City Office.
As a member of Zurich's MDRM Team you will enjoy the opportunity to fully apply and hone your marketing skills and account management skills. Specifically, you will deliver profitable growth through selling a broad and differentiated suite of solutions in a unified way and manage the existing portfolio while acquiring an intimate knowledge of our partner Broker’s business models and propositions, and create business plans which optimize identified opportunities that align with our market basket strategies.
This team member will also leads and manage holistic distributor and customer value propositions to deliver profitable growth.
Client Externally Focused - The job’s core deliverables rely on delivering service to external clients and/or customers. Typically involves building relationships and promoting the company.
Additionally, our Business Development Leader is responsible for:
Sales targets and aggressively seeks new and renewal account opportunities and communicates with a team of sales specialists and underwriter resources to facilitate closing the opportunity.
Managing sales pipeline, effectively executes sales strategies and campaigns to achieve goals related to sales calls, submissions, hit ratios, and production.
Conducting discussions with brokers/distributors to develop a detailed and accurate distributor profile.
Maintaining detailed opportunity assessment with key brokers/distributors to identify growth opportunities.
Creating business plans with key brokers/distributors that leverages Zurich´s broad range of insurance products and services.
Building strong business relationships at multiple levels of the distributor´s organization.
Conducting regular sales calls with brokers with frequency aligned to opportunity and need.
Working with Business Units to execute distributor business plans.
Periodic reviews with distributors, manages their performance to ensure execution of the business plan.
Qualifying accounts to meet with Zurich´s appetite and partnering with underwriters to negotiate and close accounts with distributors.
Increasing Zurich product density at existing accounts.
Building internal relationships with Zurich Business Units to facilitate a unified face to market.
- Bachelors Degree and 8 or more years of experience in the Sales area
Leadership experience of multidisciplinary teams
Travel required up to 20% (Territory to include: NY Metro Area)
Ability to execute effective sales strategies
Excellent communication skills
Ability to facilitate critical business relationships both to internal and external stakeholders
Strong understanding of insurance industry from a market and underwriting perspective
