Zurich North America is currently looking for an Associate Actuary or Actuary to join our Actuarial Operations & Assurance team. This role will ideally be based out of one of our main offices (Schaumburg Headquarters, Chicago, or New York), but remote may be considered for the right candidate. We offer the flexibility to work both in the office and remotely (hybrid schedule). You will collaborate with your manager to set a schedule that supports you, your customers, and the team.
In this role, you will be responsible for performing and communicating reserve analyses for the US Joint Venture and ZLS portfolios; performing related close processes, Reserve Committee preparation, and financial reporting; and supporting related regulatory/governance deliverables.
In this role, you will be responsible for the following:
Ensure accurate and timely reserve analyses and reporting
Support financial reporting, including statutory financial statements and the SAO
Complete and lead business-as-usual and ad-hoc projects
Establish and maintain excellent communication and collaboration with stakeholders
This role will be filled at either the Associate Actuary or Actuary level. The hiring manager will determine the appropriate level based upon the selected applicant’s experience and skill set relative to the qualifications listed for this position.
Associate Actuary Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics/Statistics or Actuarial Sciences and 5 or more years of experience in the Actuarial area AND
ACAS or equivalent international certification
OR
Actuary Basic Qualifications:
Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice, including Associates Degree OR
Bachelor’s Degree AND
5 or more years of experience in the Actuarial area plus FCAS or equivalent international certification OR
10 or more years of experience in the Actuarial area plus ACAS or equivalent international certification
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in multiple functional areas (pricing, reserving, and capital management) and knowledge/skills reflective of a senior practitioner
Strong verbal and written communication skills

Compensation for roles at Zurich varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. Candidates with salary expectations outside of the range are encouraged to apply, and will be considered based on experience, skill, and education. The salary provided is a nationwide market range and has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location where the position may be filled. The starting salary range for this position is$96,300.00 - $157,700.00.
