Sustainability Analyst / Senior Sustainability Analyst
Zurich North America is currently looking for a Sustainability Analyst to join our growing Office of Sustainability Underwriting based out of our North American Headquarters in Schaumburg, Illinois. This position can be based out of our Schaumburg Headquarters or 100% virtual.
The Office of Sustainability Underwriting is refining our underwriting strategy to drive our vision in support of Zurich North America leadership in this arena. The team is establishing and leading our sustainability underwriting strategy, risk appetite, and product/service solutions that align and support our sustainability commitment while helping our customers move to a more sustainable future.
Sustainability Underwriting supports Zurich North America’s efforts in three key areas:
Supporting business units to identify and develop the product and services our customers need to manage sustainability, and especially climate-related, risks
Representing Zurich North America internally and externally on the sustainability topic
Assist development of position papers and content used to represent Zurich North America both internally and externally
The Sustainability Analyst will be responsible for supporting the Sustainability Underwriting team in the following areas:
Research, identify and report on sustainability trends affecting Zurich North America and its customers, ensuring Sustainability Underwriting is constantly updated
Provide analytical support through data and report generation, creation of presentations, and assist with project management
Research and develop ideas for sustainability research and content
Responsible for report maintenance and delivery
Support the development and maintenance of sustainability communications material for internal and external customers
Leverages for the benefit of the team, their sustainability/climate change qualifications and/or experience in sustainability/climate change topics
This role will be filled at either the Sustainability Analyst or Senior Sustainability Analyst level. The hiring manager will determine the appropriate level based upon the selected applicant’s experience and skill set relative to the qualifications listed for this position.
Basic Qualifications for the Sustainability Analyst:
- Bachelor’s Degree and 2 or more years of experience in the Strategic and Operational Consulting area
Basic Qualifications for the Senior Sustainability Analyst:
- Bachelor’s Degree and 4 or more years of experience in the Strategic and Operational Consulting area
Bachelor's degree in sustainability or climate change related subject
Two or more years of experience working in the sustainability or climate change related field
A passion for making a difference and supporting the transition to a sustainable future
Knowledge and experience in the areas of sustainability and climate change and the ability to share that knowledge and experience with others
Knowledge and experience in property & casualty commercial insurance
Ability to support high profile projects critical to the future of the organization
Comfortable developing relationships at all levels of the organization including leadership and executives
Experience handling changing priorities
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and inter-personal stills
Mastery of the Microsoft Office suite of products
