Business Continuity Planning Consultant
Zurich is seeking a Business Continuity Planning Consultant to join the Business Resilience Team within Business Services. Ideally this position will work out of our North American Headquarters in Schaumburg, IL, however, may consider other Zurich office locations within the U.S.
In this role you will manage the development, implementation and maintenance of the Business Continuity Management (BCM) Program ensuring that all relevant processes of the business continuity and crisis management program are in adherence with the Internal Control Framework (ICF), Risk Policy and Group BCM Standards. This position provides consultation and support in order to prepare the Business Divisions (BDs) to respond to and recover from general incidents, man-made and/or natural disasters.
Provides leadership, guidance, direction, education & awareness of the BCM Program to Business Division management on all aspects of the BCM Program including but not limited to: a. the analysis, preparation and maintenance of Business Impact Analysis (BIA), risk and threat analysis, functional assessments, recovery strategies, key personnel, critical vendor, business continuity planning and exercising; b. coordinate BD engagement with GIT facilitating the development of recovery strategies in line with business requirements; c. provides critical business process and supporting application information from the BIA with GIT Disaster Recovery, and external vendors.
Develops and oversees the implementation of the incident and crisis management framework including scenarios, exercises to test business recovery strategies and business continuity plans.
Supports day-to-day activities done in the BDs to conduct notification exercises, respond to actual incidents and provide lessons learned sharing of information across the Region and the Group.
Is available 24 X 7 to respond to incidents.
Participates in BCM activities as needed, including but not limited to, BCM Training, BCM tool consultation, and coordination with Group Risk Management regarding operational risk assessments.
Provide necessary technical subject matter content for all aspects of BCM training programs.
• Bachelors Degree and 5 or more years of experience in the BCM area
• Associate Degree and 5 or more years of experience in the BCM area
• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 7 or more years of experience in the BCM area
• Experience in state and federal regulations
• Masters Degree: MBA
• Previous experience in Business Continuity or Crisis Management
• Project management experience
• Knowledge of business process and change management, performance metrics and measures, process mapping, data collection and problem solving
• Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) designation
• Insurance and/or banking industry experience
• Ability to put together and conduct training programs
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
