Zurich North America is currently looking for a Reinsurance Financial Associate to join our Ceded Reinsurance Team for Group Reinsurance. This role will report to the Ceded Reinsurance Manager. Qualified individuals in the Schaumburg area will be on a hybrid schedule reporting to the Schaumburg North America HQ. Qualified individuals outside of the Schaumburg area will be on a fully remote schedule. You will collaborate with your manager to set a schedule that supports you, your customers, and the team.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform reinsurance transactions including calculation, recording, accounting, reporting, and settlement

  • Provide support for various types of general and/or sub-ledger transactions relevant for local and Group reporting.

  • Process ceded premiums, calculate reinsurance recoverables, and pursue open recoverables

  • Reconcile reinsurance related activity, identify issues, coordinate resolutions, and take corrective actions

  • Reconcile premium or loss sub-ledger and provide management reports

  • Respond to reinsurance inquiries

  • Analyze and apply proper accounting and operational procedure for reinsurance contracts and transactions

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and No prior experience required in the Reinsurance areaOR

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 2 or more years of experience in the Reinsurance area

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience to include a combination of accounting, reporting, insurance, reinsurance, and financial analysis background

  • Knowledge of reinsurance contracts

  • Knowledge of reinsurance claim recoverable process and link to direct claim processing

  • Comfortable in team settings

  • Ability to interact with the business unit and customers, utilize interpersonal skills, strong communication skills are needed.

  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills.

  • Familiar with general ledger and financial reporting system.

  • Either have or working towards professional designations (CPA, CPCU, ARe)

Compensation for roles at Zurich varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by local law, Zurich provides in good faith a reasonable range of compensation for roles. Candidates with salary expectations outside of the range are encouraged to apply, and will be considered based on experience, skill, and education. The salary provided is a nationwide market range and has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location where the position may be filled. The starting salary range for this position is $52,300.00 - $85,600.00.
