Risk Engineering Representative - Middle Markets
Zurich’s Risk Engineers for Middle Markets work one-on-one with customers across various industries in multiple risks. Our Risk Engineering team takes an approach that emphasizes consulting and prevention of losses using engineering approaches and expertise.

As a Zurich Middle Market Risk Engineer, you will have the opportunity to think and act on your feet, work in a flexible and fast paced environment, travel to customer locations, perform assessments to analyze and evaluate exposures, and help customers understand and manage their risk. Working with a powerful global service network of over 900 specialists with in-depth technical knowledge and industry segment expertise, you will have access to leading edge risk management information, tools, and training. Additionally, you will collaborate with underwriting teams to help with risk selection and retention.
Zurich’s Middle Market Risk Engineering team provides detailed risk assessments of our customers’ facilities focusing on health and safety, fire protection, special hazards, and natural catastrophe exposures to help protect our customers and Zurich from losses. Participants go through a structured training program, which includes mentoring and technical support with on-the-job training that gives them the technical and real-life perspective to understand the role of Risk Engineer. The target start date is January 24, 2022.
Ideal position location is the Denver, CO area. Will also the California Bay Area and Pacific Northwest.
The Risk Engineering role is a work from home role within the assigned territory. Travel is estimated at 35-50%. A company car is provided after successful completion of the training program and assignment to field work.
Because this position includes a company car, final candidates will be subject to a Motor Vehicle Record check.
Bachelors Degree and 2 or more years of experience in Risk Management within a manufacturing or service environment
High School Diploma or Equivalent and 4 or more years of experience in Risk Management within a manufacturing or service environmentAND
Be legally eligible to work in the U.S. indefinitely
Valid U.S. driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record history
Engineering degree in Engineering, Health and Safety, Fire Protection, Chemical, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering or equivalent program
Degree in or knowledge of fire protection
Corporate internship experience or corporate work experience
Leadership and involvement in extracurricular activities and on campus organizations and/or community, public service or similar activities
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
High level of computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office
High learning agility
