Strategy Business Partner Manager

Zurich North America is currently looking for a Sr. Strategy Business Partner Strategy team. This position reports to the Head of Strategy and will be located in our Schaumburg/Chicago IL Office.

This leader will play a critical role in driving the strategy process for ZNA, identifying and implementing strategic priorities, innovation initiatives and enhancing our business development opportunities. We are looking for a trusted advisor that addresses the most important issues facing Zurich North America by collaborating with the Business Unit and Support Unit leaders on a wide variety of projects.

This is a critical role and requires strong stakeholder and influence management, excellent communication and team management/interpersonal skills, and experience navigating through a complex organization. The successful candidate must be able to build strong working relationships with both Internal and External Stakeholders and take a holistic approach to identify and address short and long-term business opportunities, develop, and execute on those solutions.

Key accountabilities include:

• Being a thought partner with the business and working with the executive leaders across business units to identify strategic priorities.

• Leading teams of problem solvers, simplifying and solving the most complex challenges facing Zurich North America and taking solutions from idea inception to testing proof of concept.

• Challenging traditional ways of thinking, inviting leaders and teams to look at problems from a variety of perspectives and develop innovative, and forward thinking solutions

• Leading and developing team of direct reports to build team capabilities/skills

• Facilitating the preparation of materials for key external presentations and internal business discussions

• Co-ordinating strategy process for ZNA in alignment with Group & Functions

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree and 12 or more years of experience in Strategy or Strategic Management ConsultingAND

• Strong understanding of the Insurance Industry, experience working across multiple lines of business and disciplines

• Experience with innovation and change management

• Supervisory or management experience

• Experience developing and deploying product/market strategies in competitive fast- moving marketplaces with strategic partnerships, acquisitions or internal development

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ability to lead cross-functional/business projects and managing multiple projects, priorities, and tight deadlines

• Strong influencing and thought leadership skills with the ability to lead across business areas without direct authority

• Great people manager with the ability to work effectively in a matrixed organization

• Strong Insurance Industry experience, forward thinking with the ability to identify trends within the industry

• Ability to work in an ambiguous, dynamic, and often fast-paced environment

• Strong analytical thinking, problem solving and advanced spreadsheet/database skills

• Excellent verbal, written communication, and presentation skills with the ability to adjust messages to varying levels of audience

• MBA
