Zurich is currently hiring anSenior UnderwritingAssociate to join the Large Domestic Property Underwriting Support &Services team in Chicago! As aSeniorUnderwritingAssociate you will support the Large Domestic Property team and work closely withexperienced Underwriters in the review and analysis of Large DomesticProperty risks. Exceptional organizational and multi-tasking abilities arerequired in this position.

Client Internally Focused - The job’s core deliverables rely on deliveringservice to internal clients, usually at the line manager or employee level. Mayinvolve sharing subject matter expertise to others in the organization orsupporting others in their efforts to deliver on our promise.

SeniorUnderwritingAssociates are charged with a variety of tasks including:

  • Working collaboratively with Zurich’s rating team.

  • Communicating directly with brokers via phone and email.

  • Evaluating exposures/controls, evaluating loss history and assessing financial condition, for basic to moderately complex business.

  • Issuing endorsements and handling billing issues.

Senior Underwriting Associates will be expected to attend a 8-weektraining class in the Zurich North American Headquarters in Schaumburg, IL(June 25 – July 27). Zurich North America will reimburse attendeesfor costs associated with the training class, including the option to fly homeeach weekend or remain in Schaumburg each weekend.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree and No prior experience required in the Administrative or Customer Service or Data Entry or Financial Services or Risk Management areaOR

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 2 or more years of experience in the Administrative or Customer Service or Data Entry or Financial Services or Risk Management areaAND

  • Travel for training is required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Underwriting/underwriting operations, claims, risk management or premium audit experience

  • Experience working with Large Property Risks

  • Experience with data collection and analysis

  • Excellent customer service orientation and communication skills

  • In-depth knowledge of processing, rating and policy issuance systems

  • Detail oriented
