Management Liability Underwriter
Zurich Insurance is currently looking for a Senior Management Liability Underwriter with Private Company experience for our Management Solutions Team in our Chicago office.
The ideal candidate will work in a team setting to underwrite and perform financial analysis for private companies and not for profit entities with under $2.5 billion in assets. The specific focus will be on Directors & Officers, Fiduciary, Employment Practices Liability and Crime coverages. Our Underwriters analyze and underwrite new and renewal business, under general direction, utilizing The Zurich Way of Underwriting Framework within delegated authority levels on assignments of higher technical complexity ensuring a high level service to customers.
Generating, underwriting and analyzing for private and non-profit based organizations. Products of focus include; Directors & Officers Liability, Employment Practices liability, Fiduciary/Pension Liability and Crime/Fidelity Liability.
External market facing position that includes significant production growth goals within the Specialties organization.
Administering and monitoring underwriting rules and guidelines, insurance laws and regulations and rating manual rules.
Develop long lasting and productive relationships with the external broker and agency communities as well as other internal Zurich business units.
Team based collaborative approach to underwriting that includes numerous face to face customer and broker interactions.
Identify and calculate the potential risk of loss from policyholders while establishing appropriate premium rates following Zurich guidelines.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent and 3 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area
- High School Diploma or Equivalent and 6 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area
- Zurich approved Apprenticeship program including an Associate Degree and 1 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area
- Zurich approved Apprenticeship program including an Associate Degree and 4 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area
Knowledge of Microsoft Office
Experience working on time restraints for quotes on new and renewal business
Experience working in a team environment
Knowledge of Management Liability lines of business and the legal and regulatory guidelines
Strong ability to analyze company financials
In-depth knowledge of corporate Directors & Officers Liability, Employment Practices liability, Fiduciary/Pension Liability and Crime/Fidelity Liability lines of business and legal and regulatory guidelines
Superior skills in relationship building, active listening, needs analysis, and win-win negotiating
Strong presentation skills and a solutions and service orientation
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong negotiation skills
Ability to effectively assess risk
