Job Summary

Zurich Canada is currently looking for a Senior Risk Engineering Consultant for Middle Market to provide risk assessment and risk improvement services for customers and business partners in specific or multiple lines of business. Acts as a recognized expert with an enhanced level of expertise in respect of a specific line of business or significant risk area.

What you will do:

  • Assess the quality of complex risks related to property, liability and auto for Middle Market accounts as described in the current risk appetite, at the related competency level.

  • Support the Ontario region, with some travel to other Provinces as required to support the overall workload.

  • Support external customers by identifying, and reducing the risks that they face individually, and on an overall account basis.

  • Anticipate, recognize, and respond to the needs of customers by providing expert solutions and training to key customers, and contribute to Business Operation Profit through opportunity spotting and cross selling.

  • Provide appropriate risk improvement advice, conduct loss investigations (including both trend and root cause analysis), and implement risk improvement programs.

  • Share technical expertise with colleagues, business partners and customers through training delivery or participation in a Centre of Expertise or industry segment.

  • Produce work that complies with company standards, in terms of technical quality of policies and procedures.

  • Develop and maintain positive customer and business partner relationships and collaborate with both customers and Business partners to develop appropriate service plans.

  • Resolve technical issues, problems, and projects in reference to policies and procedures within a specific function or unit.

Job Qualifications

What you bring to the table:

Required:

  • 8 or more years of experience in the Risk Engineering area related to Middle Market

OR

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 6 or more years of experience in the Risk Engineering area related to Middle Market

OR

  • Zurich Certified Apprentice, including an associate degree and 6 or more years of experience in the Risk Engineering area related to Middle Market

AND

  • Experience working in a teamenvironment.

Preferred:

  • Bilingual in French and English.

  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills.

  • Advanced knowledge of exposure controls.

  • Advanced knowledge within industry segment.

  • Certification in area of specialty, Risk Engineering experience specific to Middle Market.

Compensation for roles at Zurich varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. The salary range provided is a nationwide market range and has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location where the position may be filled. As required by local law, Zurich provides in good faith a reasonable range of compensation for roles. Compensation may exceed the range listed based on the evaluation of skillset and experience. The starting salary range for this position is $100,000 to $120,000.
