Zurich is currently looking for a Workers’ Compensation Claims Specialist to work out of our Parsippany NJ or Boston MA office.

With minimal direction, this position could handle New York and New Jersey orPennsylvania, Virginia, Delaware and District of Columbia Workers Compensation Claims of moderate exposure and complexity. They will resolve claims by following established protocols to ensure that claims are handled in the most efficient, effective way while delivering a customer-centric claims service. They may be dedicated to handle claims for specific accounts.

Client Externally Focused - The job’s core deliverables rely on delivering service to external clients and/or customers. Typically involves building relationships and promoting the company.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor and 2 or more years of experience in the Claims and Litigation areaOR

  • Bachelors Degree and 4 or more years of experience in the Claims and Litigation areaOR

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 5 or more years of experience in the Claims and Litigation areaOR

  • Zurich approved Apprenticeship program including an Associate Degree and 4 or more years of experience in the Claims Handling areaAND

  • Must obtain and maintain required adjuster license(s)

  • Knowledge of the insurance industry, claims and the insurance legal and regulatory environment

  • Knowledge of claims handling or insurance legal statutes and procedures

  • Customer service experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • AIC, SCLA and/or CPCU designation

  • PA, VA, DE, DC and/or WV workers compensation claims handling experience

  • Strong communications, analytical, negotiation and customer service skills

  • Advanced data gathering and problem solving skills

  • Ability to multi-task and adapt to a changing environment

  • Strong organization and time management skills

  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment

  • Ability to effectively present information to LOB manager, claimants and customers

  • Microsoft Office experience
