Zurich is currently looking to add a Litigation Paralegal to itsStaff Legal Office in Atlanta, GA.

Under the supervision of an attorney, this role provides legalsupport such as legal and documentary research; drafting legal documents,correspondence and pleadings; maintaining and updating files; monitoring caseschedules and filing deadlines; conducting interviews; summarizing depositions,medical records, and other discovery. Their work will be in support of moderateto complex Liability litigation cases (e.g. case work, research, subpoenas,etc.).

The preferred candidate resume will demonstrate experience withGeneral Liability insurance defense work in Georgia.

Basic Requirements:

  • Associate’s Degree and 2 or more years of experience in the Legal or Legal Support areaOR

  • Zurich approved Apprenticeship program including an AssociateDegree and 2or more years of experience in the Legal or Legal SupportareaAND

  • Experience conducting electronic database research

  • Experience drafting legal documents, correspondence, and/or pleadings

Preferred Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Insurance industry experience preferred

  • One or more professional certifications:

  • CORE Registered Paralegal (CRP)

  • PACE Registered Paralegal (PRP)

  • Certified Paralegal (CP)

  • Certified Legal Assistant (CLA)

  • Professional Paralegal (PP)

  • Strong ability to effectively conduct electronic database research, including LexisNexis, WestLaw, and/or NILS

  • Highly effective written and verbal communication; ability to summarize information clearly and concisely

  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively organize, prioritize, and meet deadlines for multiple, simultaneous projects

  • Demonstrated ability to successfully work independently as well as within a team

  • Previous experience in litigation legal support and familiarity with litigation management software
