Zurich is currently seeking a Software Test Engineer to work out of its Anoka, MN location in the Crop Technology unit within Information Technology and will report to the Technology Manager.

She/he will be responsible for reviewing requirement specifications, designing documents (and any other relevant documents), and providing feedback within these areas. This person should also be able to define strategies, processes, best practices & methodologies utilizing various testing techniques & tools to bring efficiency in testing. The development and execution of simple to complex test plans and test scripts will be an integral part of these duties while creating and maintaining basic to complex plans utilizing templates and guidelines in preparation of test strategies and test plan documents. Performing simple to complex test data conditioning, regression testing, and testing validation will be routine.

Collaboration with other Agile team members and providing input for product backlog, sprint planning, development, demo, and retrospect governing Agile principles will also be part of the regular responsibilities, while also interacting with users to share information and clarifying instructions. Other administrative duties may include logging, tracking and verification resolution of software and specifications, creating regular reports regarding status and metrics, documenting all phases of the Systems QA process, providing guidance to other less experienced analysts, and providing status updates to management as required. Collaborate with business teams as documents are created and updated to ensure regulatory and internal document standards are adhered to.

Client Internally Focused - The job’s core deliverables rely on delivering service to internal clients, usually at the line manager or employee level. May involve sharing subject matter expertise to others in the organization or supporting others in their efforts to deliver on our promise.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree and 4 or more years of experience in the Systems Testing areaOR

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 6 or more years of experience in the Systems Testing areaAND

  • Application testing experience across various hardware platforms and operating systems

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience reviewing Business requirements and design documents, and create test cases

  • Experience working with Quality Assurance testing tools, like Quality Center/ALM

  • Thorough understanding of SQL and relational database concepts and QA methodologies

  • Test automation experience using UFT/Selenium/protractor/spec-flow and/or programming experience in .Net/Java

  • Agile environment experience preferred

  • Good exposure to Continuous Integration/Behavior Driven Development(BDD)/ATDD using Cucumber/Specflow/SpecRun

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • High level of attention to detail

  • Demonstrated ability to work in high pace/deadline driven environment

  • Knowledge of crop insurance, farming or agriculture or experience in FarmMap and crop applications
