Broker Relationship Leader


Zurich North America is currently looking for a highly qualified VP level Broker Relationship Leader to develop national strategies for some our most significant broker relationship. This position would ideally be located in New York, Chicago, or Atlanta.

This role is responsible for making Zurich the Brokers' most trusted and valuable insurer partner. This role will focus on business priorities, market differentiation and focus on the broker strategy. Developing and executing on strategies with senior executives and regional leadership teams, working on organization wide initiatives, driving target account strategies & on cross-selling opportunities/product density. We are looking for someone who is able to develop and maintain relationships at all levels, execute on the strategic plan and initiate action plans nationally. This position requires a high level of analytical ability and relationship management.

As a Broker Relationship Leader, the individual will have deep distribution experience, preferably with some prior experience working on the brokerage side of the business. Underwriting experience is very helpful, as well as, account management. Influence leadership will be also be important in order to be successful in the role.

The qualified candidate will also be able to:

  • Host and direct meetings with executive level clients

  • Bring with them an extensive network within the Brokerage community

  • Gather data to translate from the client in order to come up with actionable items for improvement

  • Trouble shoot and mediation of issues / conflicts.

  • Provide deep insights to Zurich leadership on the health of the relationships with the brokers.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree and 8 or more years of experience in the Relationship Management area


• 10 or more years of experience in underwriting, distribution management and / or relationship management roles

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of Broker needs, value chains, and business drivers

  • Experience working with an insurance regulatory environment and regulatory changes

  • Knowledge of complex insurance programs and risk solutions, including alternative risk financing

  • Strong listening, communications and inter-personal skills

  • Action-oriented

  • Influential skills

  • Negotiation skills

  • Strong written and verbal skills
